PAASCU grants Level III Re-accredited Status to SMU’s Graduate Studies Programs

The Federation of Academic Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) has granted a Level III 
Re-accreditation Status to Saint Mary’s University’s (SMU) several Graduate Studies Programs on September 2014. 
The programs that were scrutinized and successfully  passed the requirements of the PAASCU were Master of Arts in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Arts in Education (MAED), Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and Ph.D. Educational Management (PhD EDM/EdD) Programs. 
A Level III PAASCU certified educational institution indicates that it excels in a broad area of academic discipline and enjoys authority and prestige comparable to that of international universities.Its benefits include the authority to offer new courses allied to existing Level III courses without need for prior approval, provided that the concerned CHED Regional 
Office (CHEDRO) is duly informed and privileged to apply for authority to offer new graduate programs, open learning/ distance education, extension classes and to participate in the transnational education and many more. 
Other programs of the University that have been granted a Level III Accredited Status are the Arts and Sciences Programs, Education Program, Business Programs, Civil Engineering Program and Grade School. The High School Department has a Level II Accredited Status. PAASCU is a private, voluntary, non-profit and non- stock corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 5, 1957. It is a service organization that accredits academic programs which meet standards of quality education in the Philippines. #
