To instill in the students’ minds the preservation of the environment and to practice the University’s CHSF-SWM (Clean, Healthy, Safe and Friendly Environment-Segregation Waste Management) Program outside the university, about 600 Marians joined the annual re-launching of the “Run for the Forest”. Administrators, faculty, staff and students gathered at the university oval in front of the Rev. Fr. Godfrey Lambrecht Building on August 23, 2014 at around 5:30 am for the registration, check up and warm-up exercises.
After the warm-up exercises , all the participants rode into their designated transportation that shuttled them up to the frontage of the Barangay Hall of Masoc where the fun run started. The run ended with the ceremonial planting of trees at the two-hectare site of SMU Reforestation Project and Ecological Station. #
