The Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Services (ADSAS) for Women and Head of the Publishing and Digital Printing Office (PDPO) of Saint Mary’s University (SMU) are among the top ten examinees in the recently held Psychometrician Licensure Examinations.
Mrs. Pearl Via S. Coballes, ADSAS for Women, snatched the 2nd place with a score of 84.40% while Mr. John G. Tayaban, PDPO head, nabbed the 7th place with an 83.40% rating.Coballes, also the top five examinee in the August 2012 Guidance Counselor Licensure Examinations, and Tayaban are both psychology instructors of the University.
Two other psychology instructors passed the said board examination namely Mrs. Florence N. Bahni and Mr. Bon Homme Richard G. Torres.
The Guidance Counselor of the Grade School Department of SMU Ms. Kristine Anne L. Israel was also a passer of the said exam together with five other Marian graduates namely Jefferson L. Callangan, Dahl Marie Frances T. Dacles, Leslie D. Divina, Jennifer M. Mateo, Sarah Bless C. Sanchez.
The passing rate of SMU was 77.78% while the national passing rate was 39.29% corresponding to the 1,290 newly registered psychometricians out of 3,283 examinees.
The October 2014 Psychometrician Licensure Exam, covering the four subjects (Theories of Personality, Abnormal Psychology, Industrial Psychology and Psychological Assessment) was the first of its kind in the country in accordance with Republic Act 10029.
A Psychometrician is authorized by the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to administer and score objective personality tests, structured personality tests, excluding projective tests and other higher level forms of psychological tests, interpret results of the same and prepare a written report on these results; and conduct preparatory intake interviews of clients for psychological invention sessions.
The exam was held on October 28-29, 2014 by the PRC. #
